Chatsworth House & Quebecs Hotel

Last week for valentines day my boyfriend and I had a lovely long weekend together. My parents had rented a small cottage in the Peak District thats part of the Chatsworth Estate. They needed to leave early due to work commitments so we were lucky that they had given us the chance to stay there for free on the last night.
We drove to Park Cottage straight after work on Valentines Day with a lovely Marks & Spencer valentines Meal Deal and sat by the log fire all night cuddled up on the sofa.
The house has lovely rustic, chic decor and was fully refurbished by the Duchess of Devonshire. The main focus of the house is the amazing bed pictured above made from rhododendron branches and was unbelievably comfy.

The next day we visited Chatworth House grounds (unfortunately the main house was closed) Learning about the history about the house and the Devonshire family. We also visited the amazing farm shop filled with loads of goodies.

Andy then surprised me with a stop over in Leeds.
We stayed in the lovely Quebecs Boutique Hotel right in the city centre. As we had both never visited the city properly before we spent most of the time exploring, going to The Corn Exchange and popping into the surrounding Vintage shops (thanks to all you guys who recommended places to shop and eat on twitter) The rest of the time we spent just chilling in our hotel room lounging in the hotel bathrobes (My Favourite)

Have you ever visited Chatsworth House or Quebecs? Is there any where else in Leeds I should visit next time?

Casetagram

I had seen a few blog posts about the Casetagram iPhone cases and fell in love. I was desperate to make my own and was very excited when they released a discount code for Christmas.
Usually they are $40 (roughly £25) with free postage to the UK. You can sign up to their newsletter or keep popping onto their website as they often have discounts or other offers running to get a little money off.
To start you log in with your Instagram details, choose the type of case you like (they also do other phones and iPad cases) next choose the layout you like and then the fun begins picking which images go where on your new case. I chose a mixture of holidays and special occasions for mine.
The pictures are of great quality and I have had no problems at all with it.
If you have any questions pop them in the comment box or tweet me (@whatlaurenwore)

Mexico 2013

I know this post is a little late but I wanted to share with you guys a few pictures of my holiday to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. We stayed at the lovely Riu Tequila Hotel, a brilliant hotel only a few minutes walk from the beach. I had such a fun time lazing in the sun with my Kindle Fire (reading The Host if you were interested), and spending the evenings taking advantage of the all inclusive cocktails.

We had the amazing opportunity to visit some of the best beaches in the world. Tulum beach has been voted the second best in the world. It is like a deserted island with gorgeously soft sand and amongst ancient Mayan ruins. Also the beach in Playa del Carmen is one of the top ten, it is covered in picturesque palm trees and has lovely clear waters.

While there we went on two excursions. The first was to the natural water park Xel-Ha, an absolutely beautiful lagoon where you can explore the rainforest, go swimming with dolphins, go snorkelling and jump off cliffs into the sea (proud that I gave it a go but OMG scary)
We also went on the Fat Cat Catamaran trip where they take you snorkelling searching for turtles. A trip I would really recommend as all food and drinks are included and the views are lovely.

If you plan on visiting Playa Del Carmen in Mexico and want any recommendations of have any questions don't hesitate to ask me either here or on Twitter (@whatlaurenwore)

NARS Orgasm Blusher

Pardon the photo of me at the bottom. I wanted to show the lovely glow the blusher gives as well as a bit of colour, however today was a no make up day so the blusher is the only product on my face.

NARS has always been a brand that I wanted to try out, I had always thought of it as a super luxury brand and had just assumed it would be really expensive but I was pleasantly surprised. For christmas my boyfriend said I could pick out a few of my own christmas presents so I thought it would be a great opportunity to try out the Cult Classic Orgasm Blusher. I was amazed at how reasonable their prices are. At £21.50 for their blushers I think I can feel a new obsession starting.

The blusher is really pigmented so only a tiny bit is needed so it should last me a long time. It has a highlighter blended in so it gives your cheeks a subtle glow. Its perfect for the day as alone it gives a lovely 'English rose' tint and in the evening worn with some contouring bronzer it will really make your cheeks look amazing.

I love the iconic packaging and is by far the best out of all my make up for storing. I would highly recommend this blusher to anyone, no matter what skin tone as it is simply gorgeous.
I can't wait to try some more NARS products, I was thinking the Laguna Bronzer...What do you think?

Let me know your recommendations...

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact

While in Mexico I was browsing around their department store Liverpool, without realising it I had drifted onto the beauty floor and as always I ended up browsing the Bobbi Brown counter. For over a year I have wanted the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, but I could never justify the £32 price tag for a product I didn't consider a necessity, specially as I am a poor intern.

A few years back I remember loving The Body Shop Shimmer bricks but their small selection meant there wasn't a great match for my skin tone. However as I use the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear even finish foundation I knew how great their skin matches can be.

As my dad was the holder of all our money while on holiday I thought why not see if I can get a little treat from him,  I enquired about the price and my jaw hit the floor, it cost a little over 400 Pesos....£25!

I tried a few of their shades and chose 'Nectar' a lovely coral shade. It is meant to be worn over neutral or peachy blushers to give them a warm glow and a touch of highlighter which I am yet to try, mostly I am wearing it solo just for a little glow in the day. I am also yet to experiment with this on my eyes but I think the colours will be lovely in the summer.

The packaging is the usual lovely black, sleek, glossy compact with a mirror; perfect for storing and popping in your handbag. Its fantastic as it lasts all day and is definitely worth the price tag.
I can't believe I have lived this long without it.
