Miles Kane

Back at the start of february my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get tickets for a very intimate Miles Kane gig. He played in one of my local music venues Central Station as a warm up gig for the NME Awards tour he is currently on (well im guessing thats why) He played a few new tracks from his  yet to be released new album (which I can't wait to get my hands on) and most of his first album including some of my favourite tracks 'Come closer' and 'Rearrange'. It's so much fun to see an artist you love in such close proximity in a room full of other fans.

I was a big Rascals fan back in the day and completely wore out my Last of the Shadow Puppets album (Age of the Understatement is still in my top ten most played) I just think the Miles kane Mod-esque genre is right up my street.

I have seen Miles play before at Leeds Fest, T in the Park and Benicassim. If he is at a festival you are going to this summer I cannot recommend you see him more, its the perfect music for dancing with your mates with a cider in hand, you just feed off his enthusiasm on stage and the whole crowd has a good time.

If you haven't brought his 'Colour of the Trap' album I would highly recommend it specially if you are into Indie/Rock & Roll like me.

Are you a Miles Kane fan? Do you have his album or intend to buy it? Are you planning on going to any of his gigs or see him at any festivals?

Benicassim 2012

I recently got back from an amazing holiday. My boyfriend and I went to Benicassim Festival in Spain and then went to Barcelona for a few days after. As I have so many photos and outfit shots for you guys I have split the holiday in two.

Part One - Benicassim.

If your not familiar with Benicassim it is a spanish festival in the small town of Benicassim. We flew out to Alicante early tuesday morning and had pre booked buses to take us to the festival. You can also get a train or hire a car. After about 3 hours on the bus we arrived and were given our wristbands and somewhere to camp fairly quickly, definitely quicker then other festivals ive been to. It was a little annoying when we wanted to camp but there were wardens trying making everyone camp in lines, however we ended up being lucky and were surrounded by british people and we all became a little family. As we arrived at Benicassim on the tuesday and the music didn't start till thursday we used the time to explore the town and every night they had street parties with bands and DJ's playing till the early hours. At Benicassim the music doesn't start till the evening, mostly bands we wanted to see began at about 9pm and went on until about 4am. Then to recover we spent almost every day at the beach and going for meals in the town. There is a shuttle bus that takes festival goers to the town and beach and I would high recommend getting a bus pass as a walk into town is wayyy to far and even further to the beach. There is a waterpark which is a 20 minute walk away from the camp and was about 20 euros each plus about 10 euros each if you want a sunbed.
We took our own tent with us and then left it there plus other camping stuff so we didn't have to pay for the extra baggage on the way home. On the Monday morning everyone is ushered out of the camp to the train station where buses are to all different airports and parts of spain.

The headlines were perfect for me and my boyfriend this year. I was very disappointed when we heard Florence had cancelled but all the other bands made up for it.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

On the 23rd June my boyfriend dragged me to see Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Knebworth. He had been dying to see them for years and I was being taken along for the ride. Even though I had always been a fan of RHCP I was a little worried about money as it was only a few weeks before our holiday and we needed petrol/hotel etc so I wasnt as ethusiastic as I could have been.
In the end I LOVED IT.
Knebworth is a brilliant setting for a gig as the stage is slightly down hill so almost everybody has a good view.
It was an all day gig with Reverend and the Makers, The Wombats and Dizzie Rascal supporting with loads of food stalls and shops where you can buy studs/ plugs and fair ground rides.
RHCP were so good live. They sang all the classics with a couple of covers and were so enthusiastic and .... mental, the crowd totally lapped it up and the atmosphere was amazing.

Have you seen RHCP?? What did you think of them?
